Tienen miedo que la juventud
vaya aprender algo real
de la historia de su pueblo
de su cultura e identidad.

Se dieron cuenta que la verdad
tiene un poder que no saben parar.
Por eso siembran la falsedad,
para cubrir lo que no pueden matar.

Inseparable de la tierra de este continente,

Es una guerra de la memoria
en contra del olvido.
Quieren acabar con la historia
de lxs oprimidxs.

el genocidio aun no tiene final.
La historia es prohibida
y enseñarla es ilegal.

the right of Latinos
to study their history,
pure lies are what they want to teach.

They’re afraid that the youth
might learn something real
about the history of their people,
about their culture and identity.

They’ve realized that the truth
has a power they’re unable to stop.
That’s why they plant so much falsehood,
in order to cover up what they can’t kill.

But it’s inseparable from the land of this continent,
a truth inscribed in the brown skin of its people

It’s a war of memory
against forgetting.
They want to do away with the history
of the oppressed.
